Dear CADeeze.com Community,
First of all I want to thank all of you for your support of this site. Recently I had a registered user (now a suspended user) post some not-so-nice things about me personally and referring to me as a scammer. It's unfortunate that people like that join these groups and kill my desire to continue providing this very cost effective service to you. This person questioned my method of posting some videos on YouTube, then charging for additional videos. Let me give you a little background on this project to clear things up.
I've been using AutoCAD for over 15 years professionally, but started using it in school a few years prior to that. I've worked in the field as a draftsman, a design engineer, I've worked for an Autodesk reseller as an applications engineer, an AutoCAD instructor and I performed countless demonstration of various flavors of AutoCAD. In my time, I've been told I have a "knack" for simplifying things for new users. Last year I wanted to see if people would be receptive to online videos and whether I could get the information across without having to actually sit next to them so started by posting a few videos on YouTube.com. Fortunately for me I had the forsight to brand each video with a website address that I purchased for $10 just in case these vidoes caught on. It didn't take long before I started receiving some very postitive feedback so I went on to create 14 total videos that I was providing at no charge on YouTube.com. Once I got to 14 I realized that I might have something here, but If I was going to continue I wasn't going to take time away from my wife and three girls for nothing so I set up CADeeze.com and charge less than $10 for 16 additional videos at a high resolution than YouTube can provide as well as the first 14 at the same hightened resolution. Since that time just over one year ago, the 14 videos on YouTube have been viewed a tolal of 389,534. All with a 5 star rating. In addition there are 722 YouTube users that have found such value in my videos that they chose to subscribed to any additional videos posted on YouTube. Now that CADeeze.com is up, it doesn't seem fair to post any additional videos for FREE on YouTube when others have paid to be a member at CADeeze.com.
Where does the money go? Well, to me and my family to be frank. I've spent a tremendous amount of time learning what I know about this product and CADeeze.com has provided me with a way to give back to new users and to make a few dollars on the side. Am I rich from it? Not even close. The amount I make with CADeeze.com wouldn't come close to making the average person's car payment. CADeeze.com is something of a hobby for me, not a career.
For that user that had some much to say about me and my "scam", I wish you the best. Thanks again to all the rest of you.
Jim
