An interesting question, hope you can answer...

Hi all,

So, I'm currently using Autodesk AutoCAD 2008. I'm designing some struts for an out-house. They will run out from the wall, curve down in an ellipitcal arc then run straight down to the ground.

I'm having difficulty combining the elements of lines and ellipses into one object, and when I try to do the same with a poly-line, it doesn't fit the needed curve.

Fillet doesn't do it since the horizontal and vertical line can't be joined by a circle. Join doesn't seem to want to do it either for the same reasons.

I've tried using Region and Boundary commands but the whole strut is fairly complicated and the program gets lost.

I need it to be one object so I can calculate the area and the weight but I seem to have run into the one thing AutoCAD can't cope with.
