Hello new to AutoCad and was wondering how to place company info or pictures in the borders? Then it would be great to know how to save as a templete so each time I open AutoCad it uses the same info.
Thanks
Jim
That's exactly what I want to know too.
Hi,
I'm not sure whether "actual pictures" can be cut & pasted into AC. But, as far as your Company info, (type it out using "Mtext"), & make a block out of it (see below) and then insert into the drawing as a block. HOWEVER, EVEN MORE EFFICIENT THOUGH, IS TO USE ATTRIBUTES, BUT I'M NOT YET IN ANY WAY PROFICIENT THERE, SO CAN'T HELP WITH THAT (BETTER) METHOD.
As for any Logo that you create using AC, after you've drawn it, make it into a block and insert that block as well (see below)
NOW FOR THE TEMPLATE: Create the border using AC, then file, Save As, then, in bottom of dia box in "save as type", scroll down and choose template. AGAIN, THERE'S A WAY TO MAKE IT WORK MORE EFF. USING "ATTRIBUTES" LIKE ABOVE.
YES, THERE IS A WAY TO HAVE AC OPEN EVERY TIME WITH THAT BEING THE DEFAULT TEMPLATE (IN PAPER SPACE), BUT AGAIN, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THAT PART,... SORRY AGAIN
MAKING BLOCKS: FROM THE DRAW DROP DOWN LIST, CHOOSE, "draw", block >,make, then in dia box,: name the block, then click select obj middle column 2nd item down, (then select whatever you want to use as part of your block) , and then click specify base pt, 1st column 2nd item , then on your block, select the point you want to use as your base pt, then click ok.
Then in Insert pull down choose block and then insert it.
HOPE THIS HELPED YOU!!!... Good Luck, & let me know how you do ( or if you have any questions)!!!
